Launched in June 2024, On Penang is an independent travel guide to the Malaysian island of Penang, written by British couple Jenny Lynn and Jason Lynn, who live on the island.
Jenny and Jason first visited Penang in 2007, when they travelled overland (and by sea) from the UK to Australia without taking a plane. They instantly fell for Penang’s mix of cultures, incredible food, tropical setting and welcoming locals, and returned time and time again over the years.
In 2024, they moved to Penang with their two children and made the island their home. Read more about why they moved to Penang.
Today, On Penang covers the places and experiences that make the island worth visiting, from George Town’s street art and heritage buildings to jungle trails, beaches, food, rooftop bars and day trips. As residents, Jenny and Jason share practical information based on their own experiences of living and travelling around Penang.
